Our patients experience significant financial, geographic and cultural barriers to accessing care. Operation Smile works hand-in-hand with local medical professionals, governments, hospitals and other NGOs to break down those barriers and ensure that children around the world get the care they deserve.
“By convening care providers from around the world, we know that the idea exchange, problem-solving and conversation with like-minded partners will result in relevant solutions that increase access to surgical care and ensure that no child has to live with a correctable facial deformity.”

National Department of Health – Operation Smile South Africa could not do the work we do without the ongoing support of the National Department of Health in South Africa. The ongoing relationship and friendship extended to the organisation enables patients and their families to receive the care and consideration they need.
Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital – This cleft centre based in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal continues to assist and provide surgical care for referral patients. In addition we will be conducting missions at the hospital in the foreseeable future.
Rob Ferreira Hospital – OSSA has conducted 3 missions in the last 4 years at this hospital located in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. We are very proud of ongoing partnership with the management and staff and grateful for all they do for our patients.
